Houria Laaguez Mardell was born in Kenitra, Morocco and lives in Malmo, Sweden. She studied oil, acrylic, watercolor and kroki at Skanska Art School in Malmo and has picked up her painting after retirement. After a number of years she has found that she expresses herself best in acrylic painting.

Much of her Moroccan original and life journey is what gives her inspiration for her art.
